His Holiness,Pope Francis joins Instagram

Keeping up with the times seems to be the Pope's mantra as the head of the Roman Catholic Church has decided to join the picture sharing space.

Pope Francis has set up an account on Instagram after his success on Twitter. The pontiff has more than 3 million followers on Twitter - and so far he has 5,852 fans on photo sharing site Instagram.

The social networking friendly Pope Francis is the 266th and current Pope of the Catholic Church. News of the Pope opening his Instagram account came as he toured the Italian hillside town of Assisi to pray at the shrine of Saint Francis, whose name he took when he was elected Pope on March 13, 2013.
