A 40-year old Iraqi woman has been reported to be pregnant with 13 fetuses. The shocking news has been confirmed by medical authorities at the Persian Gulf Takreet Hospital.
According to Doctor Mikdam Al Jabouri, tests have proved that this already mother of 7 children is carrying 13 infants. Same exams, however, showed 4 of them have died while risks may increase for the rest. One of the strangest pregnancies in history, Mr. Al Jabouri considered.
The woman has been married for 24 years and over the past five has failed to get pregnant. Her husband then married another woman last year and now he came to find out he could become the father of 9 babies.
In 2009, a California couple gave birth to 8 babies setting the Guinness World Record for multiple pregnancy. In 2012, an Indian woman was reported to have 11 babies but the veracity of the case is yet been questioned.
